Stoic Browser vs Google Chrome

Six Chrome profiles, or one window with a workspace per product.

Checked 12 Oct 2026 · Google Chrome site

The short answer

Keep Chrome as your everyday browser if extensions, sync and Gemini are what you want. Use Stoic Browser for the products you run: each gets its own logins in one window, your coding agent works inside them, and chores repeat on a schedule.

  • Chrome profiles open in separate windows; Stoic Browser switches workspaces with ⌘2–⌘9 and splits them on screen
  • Gemini auto browse needs Google AI Pro or Ultra; Stoic Browser uses the agent CLI you already have
  • Stoic Browser imports Chrome profiles, cookies and saved passwords (Chrome or Brave, on a Mac)
  • Chrome wins on extensions, sync and mobile

What each one is

Stoic Browser

Stoic Browser is a desktop browser for founders who run more than one product. Each product gets a workspace with its own logins, your installed coding agents (Claude Code, Codex and 14 more) work inside those workspaces, outside agents can drive them over MCP, and recorded chores replay on a schedule. Free for 2 workspaces; Pro is $29 once.

Google Chrome

Chrome is Google's free browser on every platform, with profiles, sync and the Chrome Web Store. Gemini in Chrome answers questions about your pages for free, and its auto browse agent, which carries out tasks on sites and asks before buying or posting, needs a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan in supported countries.

Which to choose

Choose Stoic Browser if

  • You juggle a Chrome profile per product and post from the wrong account
  • You want a coding agent to work in the right signed-in account
  • You check the same numbers every day and want them extracted on a schedule
  • You'd rather not sync product logins to a cloud account

Choose Google Chrome if

  • You rely on Chrome extensions or Google sync
  • You want one browser on desktop and phone
  • You already pay for Google AI Pro and Gemini's auto browse is enough

Questions

Is Stoic Browser built on Chrome?

It is built on Electron, which runs Chromium underneath, so sites behave as they do in Chrome. It does not load Chrome extensions.

Can I move my Chrome profiles over?

Yes. Import a Chrome profile straight into the workspace it belongs to. Cookies and saved passwords come across from Chrome or Brave on a Mac; bookmarks and history import from Chrome, Brave, Firefox and Safari.

Free for 2 workspaces. No account needed. macOS, Windows and Linux.
